Heartsaver Classes are designed for persons not involved in healthcare. You can take CPR / AED, or First Aid / CPR / AED, or just First Aid.
Healthcare Provider classes are classes for students who are already working in healthcare related fields or planning on working in healthcare. Ask your employer and/or school which class is best for you. Basic Life Support (or BLS) is CPR for people in healthcare.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support & Pediatric Advanced Life Support classes are for healthcare providers who oversee or participate in advanced resuscitation techniques in acute care settings.
It is the students responsibility to determine which class they need to take and register for the correct class. Ask your employer and/or school which class is best for you.
The American Heart Association also has an eLearning / online option. These classes entail watching the videos in the comfort of your own home or your favorite coffee shop then making an appointment to come complete a Skill’s Check.
