Healthcare Provider Classes

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills. Basic Life Support is CPR for people who work in healthcare. This is also the case for students who plan on working in healthcare. It is always best to check with your employer and/or school as to which class is necessary for employment or school purposes.

ACLS is geared towards healthcare providers who respond to emergencies involving adults for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. Persons directing or participating in the resuscitation of adult victims. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.

PALS is geared towards healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. Persons direction or participating in the resuscitation of infants and children. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.

What does this course teach?

Doctors, physicians assistants, nurses, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, and anyone else who works in healthcare – especially direct patient contact likely needs Basic Life Support for their CPR needs. Persons who direct or participate in the resuscitation of victims of cardiac arrest may need ACLS and/or PALS.
